Day (Golpe de la Libertad)
Special Traditions and Activities: Members of the Armed Forces, dancers,
singers, and family go to a parade that is celebrated in the Capital where
motorcycles are driven and music is playing. After the parade Members of the
Armed Forces have a feast of food and drink and an exhibition of key
achievements are showcased.

and duck.

HOW THE CELEBRATION HAS

CHANGED OVER TIME
Though the traditions have stayed the same throughout the
years, the amount of popularity this holiday has gotten is
increasing. The parades are becoming bigger, louder, and
more colorful.
This is probably because Equatorial Guinea doesnt have
many celebrations, so the few holidays they do have become
very popular.

SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES

FROM THE US
Similarities:
The Freedom/ Armed Forces day is very similar to Veterans Day. Both are
showing respect to members of the Armed Forces of each country. Each
show patriotism and pride for their country.
Differences:
Since Equatorial Guinea is much smaller than the US, they have parades
and festivals that have a lot of people come and celebrate. In the US,
they/we usually celebrate with our families on our own.
