Blog no 3 (3/20/10)

Ok well I had a few things on my mind so I wanted to graciously share them with you!

1. So I have a general question for you! (if anyone reads this) ok So what are you extremely excited for
that’s coming up this month? Is it march madness, or perhaps the fact that this is the month that most
of the amusement parks open. For me I know I’m really excited because right now my school’s musical
is going on and I’m in it. We’re doing Fiddler on the Roof which is a really strong play and it sends a
strong message no matter what religion you practice. I’m the rabbi so I’ve been having lots of fun
wearing the age makeup. And also, I’m doing the Jewish bottle dance for the wedding scene. And for
anyone who doesn’t know what a bottle dance is, it’s when you wear a hat and dance with a bottle on
top of it without dropping the bottle, but my school has a low budget so we’re doing a mug dance with
the metal mugs used in the bar scene! So yea, that’s what I’m excited about.

2. Ok so obviously haven’t done a blog in a while so here’s a giant update on my composing. My

rhapsody is coming along very well and it sounds really demented  and that music I’m writing for the
one act sounds amazing. I am also learning Prokofiev’s toccata because my music teacher keeps
comparing my composition to that so I’m having a ton of fun with that!

3. Ok so GREAT NEWS! I got into the summer school program for composition at UNCSA that I wanted
to . So yea, I’m pretty happy!

4. Ok so in the other video that’s like 7 minutes long, that’s my friend DeMarcus and he’s is amazing.
He’s the guy that’s probably going to be going back to Cali next year but luckily now he have a girlfriend
and that may be enough to keep him hear, YAY!!!

5. One final thought: So because of doing the musical, I’ve been thinking, what is my ALL TIME
FAVORITE musical? I think my all time favorite has to be between one of three: Company-Sondheim,
Sunday in the Park With George-Sondheim, or The Fantastics-TOM JONES?? Just wondering, well tell
me, what is your favorite musical?
