Students will be completing a POTD Problem of the

will be related to the concepts they are learning in
class. We will do Daily Math exercises every day and
BANSHO group problem-solving every Friday to
review the concepts of the week. We will review
Grade 2 mental math strategies for addition and
subtraction of 2-digit numbers and learn to relate
addition and subtraction facts. In geometry, we will
identify faces, edges and vertices on 3-D objects and
learn to sort regular polygons.

Birthday!

English:
Students will be required to read 20 minutes every
evening in the Home Reading Program and complete
a reading log. Every Friday, the grade threes will write
their This Week At School (TWAS) journals to
recount their week at school. In class, we will be
doing Daily Language Review every day. There will
be weekly spelling tests (every Friday) and students
are required to practice and study before the test. A
baseline reading assessment will be conducted in
September. A focus on oral language will be
presented in the form of speaking circles and
Readers Theatre. In grammar, we will cover nouns
and adjectives.
