Learning Processes

Teachers know about learning processes and how to teach and implement
Kate provided a number of different learning strategies to the students to increase engagement and
understanding. This included in class demonstrations, student participation the teaching process, practical
activities and ICT based activities. She ensured activities had adequate scaffolding in place and was able to
provide several entry points into activities to cater for all levels of understanding. Kate also successfully
implemented many different formative assessment techniques while on placement to monitor student learning
and assist students who may be having issues. This included the use of exit cards using Google surveys, padlet
class discussions, the no hand up classroom and online class discussion boards.
Planning and Teaching
Teachers plan and implement teaching strategies for successful learning experiences
Kate planned and implemented units on optics, atomic structure and congruent and similar triangles while on
placement. Her lesson plans were well though out and involved a range of different activities to cater for different
learning styles and to improve engagement. As her placement progressed Kate improved her ability flexibility in
delivery to cater for unexpected absences, technology issues and other unexpected During her time at [Schools
name] Kate was very flexible in her classroom delivery and learned to use three different learner management
systems. She successfully implemented courses via Google Classrooms, Moodle and iTunes U and developed
her lessons around the schools aim to be using ICT to redefine how we run activities in the classroom.
