Lesson Plan
Lesson: Ancient Greece Review
Standards Addressed:
Objectives: SWBAT apply previous knowledge gained from the Greek lessons
to essay questions by playing review games for the quiz/assessment in
groups and then rotating with a discussion at the end.
Materials Needed: Book, notes from class, blank paper, the essay questions,
and a writing utensil.
Outline of Day:
1. complete warmup,
2. review how day is going to work,
3. create working groups for the students.
4. remind students of what they need to do as group members.
5. then have the students complete the activity
6. review the activity as a class in a discussion.
Activity: Students will be placed into groups and will create a review question
(starting with the words how, why, could and what would have
happened if). Then, students will go around the 4 different tables in an
allotted time to answer critical thinking questions. Each group will be given a
different color pen in order to know which group is which and then we will
review and debate each question. After the first round, groups will have to
come up with a different answer than the original group.
Assignments: Students will then be assigned the task of assigning a best
answer award to the group that answered their question the best.
CFU/Assessment: CFU will come in the form of the post assignment
discussion that will take place. I will be keeping tally of the people who
answer and participate.
Notes: Students will be able to use any notes from this section and their book
to help them with their questions and answers but no new notes will be
given.
