Imagineyourselfinthemid1800s,livinginScotlandwherediscoverieswerebeingborn
rightbeforethepeople'seyes.Thiswasthetimeofgaslampsbeingscatteredacrossthestreets,
railroadsexpandingthehorizons,andtheelectrictelegraphmakinganappearance.Alexander
GrahamBellwasbornMarch3,1847inEdinburgh,Scotland.Belllivedamongstafamilyof
shoemakers.AsIresearchedthisman,hewasmainlyinterpretedasmanforapassionwith
sound,leadinguptohisgreatestinventionofalltimethatchangedtheworld.
EversinceBellwas11yearsoldhewouldcreateinventionstomakehisfamilymore
contentintheirdailylives.Oneday,Bellhadevenmadeatooltocleanthehusksoffofwheat
cornforamillownerswork.ThisinventionbroughtBellsselfesteemtoaconfidentamountto
innovateonanyone'sstruggles.Unfortunatelyhismomwasdeafandsothisinspiredhimto
practicesomeofhistheoriesonhismother,likeusingatubeplacedathereartohearsounds.
Bellthenleadtousinganimals,suchasdogs,astestsubjectstoproduceregularhumansounds
bymovingitwithhisownhands.Heonceevenblewintoalamb'sthroattoproduceaMaMa
babysound.AsBellgrewolderhestartedteachingaristocratsformalenglishclasses.
Bellhadatheorythatifatelegramcanproducesoundsbackandforth,heshouldbeable
tosendsimultaneouslysoundsthroughonewire.AtthistimeBellhadalotofpressurefromboth
hisfamilyandfellowcompetitiveinventors.In1867,Bellsyoungerbrotherdiedfrom

tuberculosis,movingthefamilytoliveinCanada.Hekeptonexperimentingwithhispianoand
deafstudentstoonedayleadtothetelephonewiththehelpofThomasA.Watson.This
inventiongrewinpopularitywithBellsgreatskillsofspeechbringingthistothenortheastofthe
UnitedStates.Thisinventionchangedthecountry,thentheworld,bymakinghuman
communicationmoresimpleandfasterthroughthisnewformofsoundtechnology.Withoutthis
inventionhumanitywouldbeataslownoninformedpacethroughoutlife.
Toconclude,AlexanderGrahamBellwasacuriousmantowardshispassionofsound
andhisintelligenceofEnglishwriting/andspeaking.Hewasamanwithaideathatleadafter
anothertofinallygetwhathewanted.Itwasn'teasyforhimbutpayedofftoberecognizedas
themanwhoinventedthetelephone.
