Del Rosario, On January 18, 2013, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, during his visit to Indonesia, announced to undertake a new youth exchange programme between Japan and ASEAN Member States, among other counties, as “JENESYS 2.0” (Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths) which aims towards the revitalization of the Japanese economy, increasing visitors to Japan, and at the same me, promoting global understanding on Japanese values. Approximately 30,000 Youths from the Asian/Oceanian region will have an opportunity to participate in the programme. The Department of Education in partnership with Japan International Cooperation Agency will be sending 46 public high school student leaders to Japan from November 3 to November 11, 2014 to represent the Philippines In line with this, may we humbly request your good office to assist us in expediting the processing of the Philippine passports of the student-delegates and Supervisors to the JENESYS 2.0: Language programme.
