Effectiveness Observation

I observed Ms. Antonowich at Newton High School. Ms. Antonowich teaches freshman
and sophopmores in Physical Education. Ms. Antonowich also teaches junior and seniors, but I
only observed the freshman and sophopmore classes. Ms. Antonowich has many effect ways that
she uses as she teaches her physical education classes. Ms. Antonowichs effective teaching
methods are different and similar from a teacher working in the classroom. In Physical Education
teaching methods are different than the classroom but also have similar teaching methods that
can go on in the classroom too. In Physical Education teaching methods have to take a different
approach to receive students full engagement and participation. Teaching methods in physical
education will determine on how you will get all students involved and meet the National
Association for Sport Physical Education (NASPE) standards. It is important to have good
teaching methods to make sure that students receive the full benefit of activities.
It is important to be effect when you teach physical education because you need to make
sure you keep students engage and to provide students with activities to get them exercise. Ms.
Antonowich has many different effective teaching methods to get students involved into the
activities for the day. Ms. Antonowich provides positive reinforcement. For example if the
students have good classes through the week they get to have a free day at the end of the week.
This teaching method is good because it gets students full participation and full effort throughout
the week during the important activities. Ms. Antonowich provides encouragement to help

motivate students to get through tasks. She also uses great energy to help with quick transition
periods between each activity. One of the best teaching methods Ms. Antonowich uses is to
participating with students in some activities and games which brings the students together and
makes them more engage. This effective teaching method makes students respect her and look up
to her more which I want to do as a physical education teacher.
