Once an opportunity presents itself, one must pursue it with vigor and a sense of purpose. As a
result, when I discovered that an opportunity with DEPT OF PARKS & RECREATION as a Community
Associate Outreach Coordinator was available I vaulted at the prospect of working in Partnership for
Parks department.
Environmental maintenance is a demanding field, not only mentally but also physically. It
requires astute knowledge of today environmental needs and the ability to assess risk with future
development. However, people often fail to realize that knowledge alone is only half the
requirements necessary to become a great Community Associate. The other half lies in the sheer
physical desire to work long hours and under stressful conditions to ensure that a project goes
through. I believe I possess both characteristics. My previous academic endeavors along with my
past work experience has provided me with tangible evidence of my abilities to excel in such a
challenging environment.
