DNA profiling, called STR analysis, is a very sensitive technique which only needs a few skin
cells, a hair root or a tiny amount of blood or saliva. DNA profiling is especially useful for solving
crimes but can also be used to confirm if people are related to each other, such as for paternity
testing.
The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is a technology in molecular biology used to amplify a
single copy or a few copies of a piece of DNA across several orders of magnitude, generating
thousands to millions of copies of a particular DNA sequence. Gel electrophoresis is a
laboratory method used to separate mixtures of DNA, RNA, or proteins according to molecular
size. In gel electrophoresis, the molecules to be separated are pushed by an electrical field
through a gel that contains small pores. Gel electrophoresis is one of the techniques scientists
use to look at the DNA they have. This technique separates DNA molecules by size.

Conclusion
Lucy Leffingwells DNA was found at the crime scene, I came up with this conclusion by
examining the blood found at the crime scene and Anna Garcia's DNA.
Restriction enzymes and gel electrophoresis plays a huge role in DNA profiling, it separates
mixtures of DNA, RNA, or proteins according to molecular size. In gel electrophoresis, the
molecules to be separated are pushed by an electrical field through a gel that contains small
pores. This can determine who was at the crime scene and also who committed the crime.
if DNA would fall off the gel and there would be no data. DNA is negatively charged so it would
be attracted to positive.
DNA analysis can determine ancestors, can help get past genealogical brick walls, and can
determine if you are related with someone.
The biomedical profession is useful to Annas case because in everything they do determine
crimes scene to find a potential suspect.
