Winthrop Major Minor Fair Offers Direction for Students
Winthrop University hosts annual fair representing all majors and minors available to undergraduates ROCK HILL, S.C. Sept. 11-The long process of searching the Winthrop website looking at potential majors and minors is no longer necessary. Students can find a major or minor with ease by attending the Major Minor Fair at 11 a.m. on Oct. 17. Each major and minor will be represented at the fair taking place in the Richardson Ballroom. The Academic Success Center, Honors program, International Center, and the Graduate School will also have representatives at the fair. The fair will help students see there is a wide variety of majors and minors at Winthrop that will suit any interest. Amy Sullivan, director of the Center for Career and Civic Engagement, hopes the fair provides direction for students who are unsure of their exact path in college by providing all of the necessary information to help make a decision. The Major Minor Fair is an excellent way for any student who is unsure of their major or who has not yet decided on one to explore their options. The sooner students pick a major or minor they love, the more likely they are to feel a sense of belonging and success here at Winthrop, Sullivan said. Students will have the opportunity to sign up for a major and minor while at the fair. This will streamline the process and make changing or deciding on a major as simple as possible for students who attend.
