Plan: The First Draft

The proposal should include:


For this lesson, the students will be creating Canopic animal jars that relate personally to each student.
Before starting the plaster activity, the students will need to complete four full sketches of their Canopic jar
ideas.
Divide a page from your sketchbook into four boxes. Write down the name of a person whom you have had
a relationship with in the past. One has to have had a positive impact and one has to include a struggle.
Write down three characteristics per box about that person. Using the characteristics listed, come up with an
animal that fits those specific characteristics.

Using a sketchbook, TSWBAT complete four sketches to act as a plan

Using plaster strips, newspaper, and a jar, TSWBAT create a Canopic jar, that relates
personally to them.

To record results, students will have to complete all sketches prior to building. The animal they create has to
be a part of their planned out sketches.
In progress critique will be used to determine the level of achievement for ideation.

Create a Scoring Rubric


Based on selected criteria determined by student and teacher in step two;

determine levels of achievement on each criterion;

include both process and product in the assessment scoring plan.


Plan: The Final Draft

Write the final draft of the task with all parts, including task description, objectives, methodology,
assessment criteria, and scoring plan;

Complete the task and self-assess;

Assess.
