The room full

of cardboard boxes
empty

The first day of fallI walk with a cane now

but I'm still in the world

I shake the camera

to capture waves of light
it's an autumn night

While they're in the

air
listen to the leaves
falling
there

A mushroom cloud
rising in the distance
iphones steady

At night you pass

a building with one
light on
so you invent god

I like to think of blue

as October
as you

Big tree
you've been with me
from the beginning

A glass vase
holds a warped table
& a white rose

Every Sunday
at the sea
theres a sermon

The music box

turns my head
again

Pounding dust
from the couch
love

The dog was named

Spot
and he could run
and he owned a gun

A street
of fiery leaves
mood swings

We substitute
that tree
with this tree

After 3 million years

a fern grows here

I feel
like I'm being followed
by a dragonfly

The Night of the

Cicadas
the building collapses
exposing the
apartments

At the rectory
under the bare bulb
two men shooting up

Shaping steel
with a blowtorch
till it spills

The terror
of t.v. static
has me on pills

He walked by night
in black and white
and robbed passersby

Swimming
in the pond
a few stars

Heaven
here
in the dirt

Without interiors
American movie stars
are comic book actors

The organ grinder

has to sell his monkey
to the University
