GRIHA CRITERION 18: Rainwater

Recharge

Intent:
The intent of this criterion is to promote the
recharge of groundwater aquifers.

Maximum Points: 2

Non-applicability:
If the CGWB norms suggest that the ground
water table is high and ground water recharging
should not be done, then the project is exempt
from this criterion

Appraisals:
Recharge of surplus rainwater into aquifer (through
appropriate filtration measures) 2 points

Compliances:
Submit details of rainwater harvesting for ground
water recharge and its filtration system to show
that adequate preventive measures are being
taken to avoid damage to the aquifer by the
recharged rainwater
