Message!from!the!Board!of!Trustees!
We!were!very!sad!to!learn!of!the!passing!of!Colin!Hill,!grandfather!to!students!Angus!and!
Rosa!Hill.!!As!such,!the!Board!felt!it!was!appropriate!to!reflect!on!our!heartfelt!thanks!to!
Colin!and!his!family!for!his!contribution!to!the!school!community!particularly!with!his!
significant!input!to!the!repair!of!our!pool.!!
!

Colin!was!an!architect!who!had!worked!closely!with!the!Christchurch!City!Council!and!had!
experience!with!the!building!of!several!public!pools.!He!provided!a!very!calm!and!
experienced!manner!when!negotiating!the!perils!of!bureaucratic!red!tape.!!Whenever!we!
ran!into!a!problem!Colin!was!always!happy!to!take!a!call!and!sort!it!out,!either!directly!or!
providing!some!well!considered!advice.!After!the!pool!was!repaired!he!was!always!happy!
to!have!a!chat!at!the!many!school!events!he!attended!as!he!followed!the!progress!of!his!
grandchildren.!His!passing!will!leave!a!large!gap!in!our!community!and!he!will!be!sorely!
missed.!!!

What!a!busy!week!it!has!been.!Our!Year!4!children!went!to!stay!at!Living!Springs!Camp!and!
were!given!the!opportunity!to!participate!in!a!fantastic!range!of!learning!experiences.!We!
had!a!wonderful!group!of!parent!helpers!supporting!the!Year!4!teaching!team,!making!this!
education!outside!the!classroom!programme!both!safe!and!enjoyable.!Thank!you!to!all!
those!involved.!

Sadly!the!weather!didnt!support!our!Year!4_6!students!as!they!competed!in!their!senior!
