The document summarizes lessons on money taught to students. It discusses intended learning goals, changes made to lesson plans, student responses, and lessons learned. For a math lesson on coins, the teacher added an assessment identifying coin values and most students responded well. A second money lesson calculating coin amounts was repeated with an extra challenge added, though this made it noisier. The teacher learned not to overcomplicate lessons and use timers.

What did I intend students to learn during this lesson? I expected students to show knowledge of the Australian coins and their values. Changes I made to the lesson plan and why? I added a little individual assessment where I asked students to point out each coin that matched the value as another form of diagnostic assessment. How did students respond to the lesson? Students responded well. The scoot routine is one that they are familiar with. What did students learn from the lesson and how do I know this? This lesson was for me to assess student knowledge for future planning. What could I have done differently to improve the outcomes for students? Had an extension activity for fast finishers. What did I learn? Give out rewards (dojos) to encourage positive behaviour.
Wednesday/Thursday Maths Topic: Money
What did I intend students to learn during this lesson? How to calculate small collections of Australian coins. Changes I made to the lesson plan and why? I did this lesson twice to allow students opportunities to improve and succeed. The second time I added an extra challenge to collect $1.00 coins for each correct answer this however made the lesson more chaotic and wasnt necessary. How did students respond to the lesson? The first time the lesson went smoothly. It helped to have an E.A as the candy shop owner. The second lesson was a lot nosier and more confusing with the dollar challenge. What did students learn from the lesson and how do I know this? Through observations and questioning I notice that students are improving with the addition of collections of coins. What could I have done differently to improve the outcomes for students? Dont add the $1.00 challenge. What did I learn? Use a timer! Dont over complicate things.
