Human Environment
Interaction
Human Environment Interaction is one of the 5
themes of geography. Human Environment Interaction is
when the people use the environment for their daily life
and make into their personal, people can also make
communities and in return the environment provides
plants, food, field, wheat. For example in Jogja on the 3 rd
day we have to plant wheat in the water and then when
we need to ride the buffalo and then commend it to turn
around so the landscape will go smoother and the plants.
People have 3 ability, the first is depending on the
environment, the second is adept to the environment, and
the third is modifying the environment. we depend on the
environment because we have the basic needs and
necessities such as food, clothing, water, and shelter. For
example we can use trees for making houses and
buildings, we can get food from the plants, we can get
water from the rain that has been reserved in the
underground, we can make clothing by taking wools from
the sheep, yarn from silk worms, cottons from the cotton
balk. We adapt to the environment for example when the
weather is hot and sunny we put air conditioner and fan,
we also make shelter so the shelter to protect us from the
sunlight, we can wear hats or umbrellas; When there are
many pests such as snakes, mosquitoes in the
environment we put on mosquito repellent, we make
equipment to protect our houses such as mosquito
screen/net for windows and doors. We modify the
environment for example we build dams to prevent
flooding, we cut trees to get space for buildings, we plant
grass to build soccer fields, we build houses to live, we
build schools to learn more about how to preserve the
environment.
