Definition and citation: Acid rain is a rain that contains large amounts of
harmful chemicals as a result of burning substances such as oil and coil.

Causes-human activity:Acid rain, also known as acid deposition, is caused by
emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides from power plants, cars and
factories.

Description: In Western India-Cotton crops were found destroyed after being


caught in heavy acid rains in Gujarat. The farmers feel hopeless and they say the
soil has become useless.
