Hello! Its hard to believe it is the end of
October. Only 8 more Fridays until
Christmas day.YIKES!

Heres what we are working on!

Language Arts: We continue to work
on some comprehension strategies to help
us become better readers. Our first

Monsters of the Week

Kids will eat lunch with Mrs. Thelen on

Wednesdays

strategy will be metacognition. Simply

stated metacognition is thinking about
your thinking! As we read we need to
interact and think about the text

Math: We are working on Unit 2. This

covers number stories, equal groups and
multiplication arrays. We show our work
through pictures and writing
multiplication and division number
models. Please go over your childs
homework with them and have them
correct any errors. This helps reinforce
concepts learned in class.

Social Studies: We are studying the

Geography of Michigan. We are looking at

maps and discovering that Michigan has a
little bit of everything in its landforms! We
will also look at Michigans human
characteristics.

I will be asking for volunteers soon. I

will send one out through sign-up
genius.
