First, there are some things you need to know after you install Gigatribe:

When you installed Gigatribe it may had told you that you are behind a firewall and
Could not use DIRECT CONNECT. Therefore you are now connected by EASY CONNECT
This will become a problem later. EASY CONNECT
will allow you to have a fully functional
Use of Gigatribe for a month. Then if you do
not rectify the connectivity issue it will ask you
To buy Gigatribe and pay a yearly fee to use
EASY CONNECT. You do not have to do this, but
The solution will require you to access your router
and open a port. If you are Connected directly to the
internet with no router, you should be ok because you
are using DIRECT CONNECT. If not, you need to do this.

This tutorial was made using VISTA. You should be able to figure this out using XP or Wind
YOU WILL NEED TO SET YOUR COMPUTER TO HAVE A STATIC IP ADDRESS.

To set a static IP addres, do the following:

1.Click the start button:
1.Right click on NETWORK and click PROPERTIES:

3.Click: MANAGE NETWORK CONNECTIONS:

4.Find your network connection

(The one you are using to connect to the internet)
RIGHT CLICK on it, click PROPERTIES

5. Click once on INTERNET PROTOCOL VERSION 4

(TCP/IPv4) This will highlight it
6. Click PROPERTIES

7. Now you need to set yourself a static IP

Address. Click USE THE FOLLOWING IP ADDRESS:
FOR LINKSYS ROUTERS:
Your IP address ranges will be anywhere from
192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.255 This means
You can pick any IP address you want in this
Range. As you can see mine is:
FOR NON LINKSYS ROUTERS most likely your
Possible IP address ranges to choose from will
Be: 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.255
So choose a IP address within this range. To find
Your routers IP look here:

(CLEARWIRE ROUTERS DO NOT FALL INTO THESE CATAGORIES!

router login:
192.168.1.254, default user name: admin Make all changes within the Clearwire router itself, do not

P address using this example, use the Clearwire configuration by logging into the router. Clearwire
automatically assigns
a static IP. You only need to open the port 3728 for the specific computer that will use Gigatribe.

8. Click once in the SUBNET MASK IP area, it will automatically fill in the
subnet mask

10. Click: OK
11. RESTART YOUR COMPUTER

11.Now open internet explorer and in the ADDRESS area:

Linksys routers type: 192.168.1.1
Clearwire routers: 192.168.1.254
Most other routers type: 192.168.0.1
This will bring up your routers login screen:
If you never accessed this before your router
Has a default login.
For Linksys routers:
User name: Admin
Password: (LEAVE BLANK)
Click: OK

12.Now you need to create the port rule for GIGATRIBE. So on an empty line
type in the
Name of the program Gigatribe,
for EXTERNAL PORT and INTERNAL PORT
you need to put in
