Chapter 3

I.

Method of Research
The kind of research that we would be using is Case Study. Case Study would be
an appropriate research method for this paper as we would be able to compare the
experiences of one child to another given their background.

II.

Subjects of the study

We will interview three respondents and categorize them as Respondent A,
Respondent B, and Respondent C. They will remain anonymous in respect to their
privacy.
Respondent A, a female college student from GCC, currently lives in Quezon
City. She came from a family of fourone father, one mother, one younger brother,
and herself. Her parents separated during the beginning of her college life.
Respondent B, a female college student from GCC, also lives in Quezon City. She
came from a family of fiveone father, one stepmother, one mother, one adopted
younger brother, and herself. Her parents separated before she was born.
Respondent C, a female high school student from GCC, lives in Quezon City. She
is currently living with her mother only. Her parents separated when she was a child.

III.

Description of Research Instrument

Our questionnaire would consist of questions relating to the experience of our
subjects about the separation/divorce of their parents. It would help us to distinguish

what are the differences of each child in different ages when dealing with the
separation/divorce.

IV.

Data Gathering Procedure

We would first gather research from the internet and books. We would then
conduct our interviews based on our findings. After the interview, we would then
compare any patterns from our three respondents.

V.

Statistical Treatment Applied

A correlational study would be applied in our research where we would observe
and compare any related pattern/s from each other.
