A peek at the month

month

Reading: We will be focusing on informational

texts this month. We will be revisiting
answering who, what, where, when, why, how
questions, how to compare and contrast nonfiction, and the authors purpose of writing
the text.
Math: We will be learning how add and
subtract 2 digit numbers with and without
regrouping. We will also be learning different
strategies to add and subtract such as; using a
100s board, number line, quick pictures,
expanded form, and old school.
Social Studies: We will be learning more about
Thanksgiving and different cultural
traditions.
Writing/Grammar: We will be working irregular
plural nouns, collective nouns, verb tense. In
writing we will be learning how to write
informational stories. First we will be
focusing on How tos then moving into
researching.

*Homework will always be the same every week, unless

there is no school.

season is here. This is my absolute
reading, math, and spelling on the content
learned that week.

favorite time of teaching. There are so

many fun things to look forward to here at
school. We will be making Gingerbread
Houses in December and need all the parent
help we can get with this. We will be having
our Gingerbread House day on Thursday,
December 17th at 1:30. Nothing has been set
in stone as far as time yet, but I wanted to
give you all the opportunity to take off
work if needed.
At this point, I have finished up my
first quarter conferences, and will be
offering third quarter conferences. If you
need to meet with me at any time please
