Intensified Traffic Enforcement Detail to be Operational November 9th

The Riverside Police Department created an Intensified Traffic Enforcement unit in
2011and now it has evolved into a multifaceted unit that gathers data, evaluates
complaints,
enforcement,
and
then
reevaluates the area to see what impact the
enforcement phase has had. ITE has been
done so well that an article was published in
a State wide publication so other
departments can mirror the successful
Riverside campaign. The unit is now
supervised by Sergeant Jeffery Miller and his
detailed style of supervision has been an
added plus.
The detail will be operational on this upcoming Monday November 9th with specific areas
being targeted in Riverside. ITE always likes to target the schools as our children are a
priority so you will be seeing several patrol units at many of the Schools. Many other hot
spots are scheduled to be targeted on this upcoming Monday as well. Sgt. Jeff Miller
stated, We will be out there working the targeted areas hard to slow everyone down and
make the streets safer. I encourage residents to help us to identify areas that need extra
enforcement as it takes the community and police department to work together to help
stem reckless driving.
