A student shadowed an early childhood educator and wrote a thank you letter expressing what they learned. The student observed how busy the educator's day is but the educator took time to show their duties. The student realized early childhood educators need patience and do more than just watch children. The experience helped the student decide on a career path.

Ms. Kayleigh Erk
Weymouth Child Development Center 346 State Street Charlotte, MI 48813 Dear Ms. Erk: Thank you for allowing me to job shadow you. It was a great experience to see what a early childhood educators day is really like. You seem very busy, so thank you once again for taking time out of your day to show me what you do. I realized a lot of things about being a early childhood educator that I hadn't before. You have to have a lot of patience to be able to work with students all day. Also, how many other things go into being an early childhood educator besides just watching the children. I definitely have some decisions to make regarding what career I want to pursue. I am grateful to have had the experience to explore early childhood education as an option. Sincerely,
