Math Fact Fluency

Importance of Automaticity
Students who are able to recall basic math facts automatically will have a greater
success when introduced to more complex problems. Helping your child at least
ten minutes an evening four times a week will build skills that will prepare your
child for higher-level math problems.

Kindergarten: Students will be able to fluently (within 3 seconds)

add and subtract with sums of 0-5.

1st Grade: Students will be able to fluently (within 3 seconds) add

and subtract using the numbers 0 10.
2nd Grade: Students will be able to fluently (within 3 seconds) add
and subtract using the numbers 0 20.
3rd Grade: Students will be able to fluently add and subtract using
the numbers 0 1000. Students will also be able to fluently
(within 3 seconds) multiply all products using the numbers 0 9.
4th Grade: Students will be able to fluently add and subtract multidigit whole numbers using the standard algorithm. Students will
also be able to fluently (within 3 seconds) multiply and divide
using all products using the numbers 0 10.
5th Grade: Students will be able to fluently add and subtract multidigit whole numbers using the standard algorithm. Students will
also be able to fluently (within 3 seconds) multiply and divide
using all products using the numbers 0 10.
