Studentswillhavetheoptiontoreceiveafouronthisproject.Theywillresearchatopic
oftheirchoicethatadvancestheirknowledge.Someexamplesinpointslopeformulaandsystem
ofequations.Theycanalsoteachthelistenerhowtographlinearequationsusingatable.They
knowhowtographlinearequationsfromslopeinterceptform,butnotbyusingatable.

assessmentcombineseverythingstudentshavelearnedintooneassignmentwheretheywillbe

andengagethemintheirlearning.Studentswillhopefullyfeelasenseofprideintheirfinal

Reflection:
Thisprojectwasanexcellentwaytoconcludemylessonswiththestudentsandspendmy
lastweekwiththesestudents(beforeItransfertothehighschool).Iwoulddefinitelydothis
summativeassessmentagain.Ilikehowstudentswereabletoshowmewhattheyhavelearned
bycreatingascreencastratherthantakingatest.Theinformationbecamemuchmoreimportant
tothemwhenplacedintoateacherroleratherthantakingatest.Studentswereextremelyexcited
topicktheirownequationsandwriteascript.
Thisprojectreallyhelpedstudentstakeownershipoftheirlearningandithelpedthem
understandwhattheydidanddidnotknow.IshowedthestudentsasampleofavideothatI
made,however,itdidnothaveallthecomponentsIwasexpectingthemtohave.Ithinkthis
confusedsomestudents,eventhoughthathadachecklistthattoldthemexactlywhatthey
neededintheirvideo.IfIweretodothislessonagainIwouldeitherhaveacompletedvideoorI
wouldnotdooneatall.
