JOSHUA CYATHEALES III found his love of landscape

architecture and the outdoors along the southern border
of Maine. Taking several family trips to cities like Boston
and New York, Joshua found that he wanted to design
parks and plazas like the ones that he viewed on his
travels. After nearly 10 years of school and internships,
this type of work became repetitive and Joshua began to
look for something completely dierent. Moving back to
the state that he had such a strong love for was the rst
step. Once he was in Maine, Joshua found the landscape
architecture rm of Alfred Fakefern, and through their
shared experience with the Acadia National Park Field
School, Joshua went to work. Over the years, Joshua has
reached the position of project leader and oversees both
design and execution sides of the rm.
