BHASKARACHARYA
Bhaskaracharya was born at Bijida Bidam, a place near the plain of
Sahya parvad(western ghats) in Karnataka during 1114. Bhaskaracharya
was the author of the famous mathematical composition Leelavathi. In
Leelavathi he describes Mathematics with the fluency of a creative
artist. The place he was born is belived to be the Bijapur of today. His
father Maheswara was a mathematics scholar. Bhaskaracharya learned
mathematics from his father.

CONTRIBUTION TO MATHEMATICS
1. He was the first to declare that any number divided zero is
infinity and that the sum of any number and infinity is infinity.
2. Bhaskaran introduce cyclic method to solve algebraic
expressions.
3. Bhaskaran can also be called the founder of differential
calculus.
4. He gave an example to differential coefficient.
5. He gave the basic idea to Rolle s Theorem.
6. He divided his book Siddhantha Shiromani in to four sections
Leelavathi(a book on Arithematic)
Bijiganitha(algebra)
Goladnayaya(chapter on sphere-celestial globe) and
Granoganita(Mathematics of planets)
Leelavathi contains many interesting problems.
7. He gave a method for deriving sines for angles of every
degree.
8. He gave some contributions on series, permutations, linear and
quadratic equations.
