1.CARRY ON

We use it when suddenly


something unexpected
happens, it means keep
calm and continuous, go
ahead, or continue doing
what you were doing.

Example: Mary was presenting the English


quiz, but the internet fell down, then I say her
do not worry, carry on.

TO UP:

it is used when we
want to fill the glass
of water or recharge
the cell, or the card.

Example: I've run out of minutes I


need to up recharge the phone to
make an urgent call.


GO OUT:

we use this expression to


refer to leave home or when
we are going out with
someone.

Example: she got surprised when her


boyfriend asked her to go out with him to
the cinema.

FED UP

we use to indicate that we are


angry or annoyed of
something or someone.

Example: Marcela is fed up of intolerance and


irresponsibility of her husband


STAY AWAY:

we use these words when


we want to warn someone
(stay away)

Example: Stay away from fire can burn


and hurt you.

TAKE AFTER:

(resemble) is used to mean


that anyone looks of the
same way of another one or
objects

Example: if you know Valentina you will


realize that she take after her mother.

TRY ON:

It is used when we you


wish to someone, try on
something, maybe a food
or clothing (try it on)

Example: I have a dress and it is not fit


well on me, try on and if it is your size I
give you.

GO AHEAD:

When we give
someone a hint to
start doing
something or keep
doing it.

Example: You have 20 minutes to develop the


questionnaire, go ahead.

LOOK AFTER:

is used to refer to
care for someone or
take refuge to
someone.

Example: My mother look after my baby when I


have to work during the day.

Break away:
It make reference to
sall off or separated
from someone. It is
used to refer to
something that
continues or had
end.

Example: Ana has decided to break away her job


and friends to go to Spain.
