SO- TSWBAT recognize and name the letter Ss

M- Farm poster scene, Chart 4, and alphabet cards
I- (See below)
E- TSW demonstrate knowledge of parts of the parts of a word by clapping
the syllables. TSW recognize the letter Ss along with previous letters learned.
Instruction:

Show farm poster scene

o Just like yesterday, I am going to say a word and clap the parts
of the word. I will demonstrate first, and then I want you to
repeat after me. The first word is skunk (clap once). Now
everyone say it with me and clap the parts, skunk.
o (words: skunk, sunny, outside, egg, stepping, clucking,
afternoon)
o Go through all the words and have students repeat the word and
the clapping. After each word, choose student to come and find
an example of the words on the poster.
Turn to Chart 4
o Introduce the letter Ss
o Lets practice all the letters weve learned. When I point to a
letter, everyone say what it is. If I hear the wrong letter, well
start the row over so we can really learn the letters and
remember what they look like. (Point to first letter)
o Go through all the letters on Chart 4
Bring out alphabet cards
o Start at the beginning of the alphabet and go through every
letter practicing the letter sounds and hand motions as a whole
group.
o Just like before, I will say the letter first and then we will all say
the letter sound while doing the hand motion that goes with it.
