Making predictions
We use GOING TO to predict events that are

evident (o we have evidence like forecast,


reports, statistics, etc.)

We use WILL to predict events based on our

opinion (without any evidence)

Examples
The year 2222 will be a very interesting year.
The year 2222 is going to be a very

interesting year.
Andres Manuel will be the next President.
Andres Manuel is going to be the next

President.
The movie Frozen" will win several Academy

Awards.

We usually use these verbs to

To expect (I expect she will)
To be sure (Shes sure youll)
To think (Do you think she will? / I think the

weather will)

To believe (I believe computers will )
To wonder ( I wonder what will happen)
