Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is for you to begin to address the graduation
requirements for your major and to address the entrance requirements for your chosen four-year
institution. Please address the questions below. Please type your responses.
1. What courses are you currently taking this semester?

I will be done this semester at CSI with my AA degree.
3. Have you applied for CSI graduation? (https://www.csi.edu/forms/students_forms/gradapp/)
No I have not yet, it looks like according to the CSI site there is only spring and summer
graduations. It tells when the applications are due for spring and summer graduations.
4. What are the entrance requirements for your chosen four-year institution? What are the
application deadlines? If you plan to apply for scholarships, what are the scholarship
application deadlines? Have you applied for financial aid?
Requirements

A 2.75 overall grade point average including all transfer credits or credits earned in a
previous degree program.

2. A grade of B [3.0] or higher in at least two of the following areas with a grade of no
lower than C [2.0] in any of the three areas:

ENGL 1101 (English Composition), ENGL 1101P (English Composition Plus),


or ENGL 1102 (Critical Reading and Writing) (satisfies University General
Education Objective 1) or College of Education-approved equivalent.
COMM 1101 (Principles of Speech) (satisfies University General Education
Objective 2) or College of Education-approved equivalent.
MATH: Any of the following or College of Education-approved equivalent:

a) MATH 1108 Intermediate Algebra
b) MATH 1143 College Algebra
c) MATH 2256 Structure of Arithmetic for Elementary School Teachers

Exam must be scheduled OR completed prior to application deadline.

Admitted to Idaho State University, plus a $50 app fee and official transcripts.

Completed application to Teacher Education Program.

A copy of unofficial transcripts and current class schedule.

EDUC 202 field experience form and EDUC 290 portfolio.

ISU interview.

Application deadlines
Fall Admission: March 1st or June 1st; Spring Admission: October 1st
I am not planning at this time to apply for scholarships, but will apply for financial aid December
7th, 2015.
5. Does your chosen four-year institution require Praxis 1 (or other tests)? What scores are
needed? What are the dates for Praxis 1 (or other tests)? Do these tests have to be completed
before the application deadline? If so, how long does it take to process test scores?

Praxis Website: www.ets.org

Yes ISU does require Praxis 1 with minimum scores of: Reading = 172; Writing = 174;
Mathematics = 169.
The dates for the Praxis 1 are available after you register for them, they have to be scheduledd or
completed by application deadline.
It takes 10 to 15 business days after taking the Praxis 1 to receive test scores.
