EXT - WOODLAND - MIDDAY
A middle aged couple are walking calmly through the forest on
their way home, talking softly holding hands when they here
twigs snap behind them the man snaps his head back to see what
had caused the noise, seeing nothing and on edge they picked
up a pace, another person was there in the distance far from
sight he watched them.
George puts his arm round Susan and they walk off home,
oblivious to the fact theyre being followed
1 week later
The phone is ringing Steven walks up to it frowns at the phone
as if he shouldnt be expecting a call, he picks up the phone

INT STEVENS HOUSE AFTERNOON

Steven
Hello?
Gordon (police chief)
Steven its me Gordon I have some news
Steven
I hope its good news, I cant be dealing with anymore
disappointments
Gordon sighs down the phone and pauses Steven notices this

Steven
What is it Gordon

Gordon
Theres no good way to say this so Ill just say it, your
parents were found dead this morning in their home
Steven
Where are you?
Gordon
At home why?
Steven
Im coming we have much to discuss
Steven hangs up the phone

EXT PARK BENCH AFTERNOON

Steven and Gordon are sat on a bench Steven has his head in
his hands

I want this case Gordon
Gordon
You know I cant assign you this case it would be
unprofessional ill have one of my guys look into it
Steven stands up frustrated
Steven
So you expect me to sit by and do nothing
Gordon
Yes I know it sounds stupid but its for the best, Malcolm has
already been here asking for this case he got the same answer

Steven
Malcolm of course okay thank you for your time chief i feel
ill Im going to go home

Steven walks off and once out of sight he picks up his phone
and makes a call to Malcolm
Steven
Hey Malcolm its me meet me at the park
Steven hangs up the phone
EXT-PARK-MIDDAY
Steven sees Malcolm approaching and gets up and shakes his
hand
Malcolm
Listen Steve Im sorry to hear about your parents they were
good people

Steven
Yes they were and they deserve to be avenged are you going to
help me
Malcolm
You don't need to ask me that question
Steven
Good, meet me at my parents house tomorrow
Malcolm
Ill see you there
They shake hands and Malcolm walks away Steven continues to
look at Malcolm

Steven
Malcolm don't let anyone see you enter
Malcolm

Steven
Whoever this guy is he watches the house an officer who was
there this morning was found dead by locals
Malcolm
Ill keep an eye out
Malcolm enters the house
Steven

Malcolm

Steven

Malcolm
What are you doing?

Im looking for anything which may help us in this
investigation as to why my parents were murdered
Steven is searching the wardrobe and Malcolm starts opening

Steven picks up the note, and looks at it puzzled

Its a note from Gordon to my dad

Steven
Thank you for keeping my brother a secret from everyone
especially your son I cannot have that information getting

Steven drops the note and sits down
Malcolm
The chief was in on this wasn't he?
Steven
Ring the chief tell him to come here now then hang up don't
give him a chance to speak
Malcolm nods his head then gets his phone out and rings Gordon
Malcolm
Gordon hello its Malcolm come to Stevenss parents house ASAP
Malcolm hangs up the phone Steven gets up
Malcolm
Where are you going?
Steven
He will be an hour or so Im going to take a look round the
premises I wont be far you stay here for when chief arrives

Malcolm
Okay but be careful
The door shuts and Steven leaves the house

Gordon smiles and sticks his hand out George instinctively
shakes it and then the chief briskly walks away

Steven is walking and gets a phone call from Malcolm

Steven
Malcolm is everything okay....

The phone call is cut short

Steve starts running back to the house scene cuts to the door

INT-STEVENS PARENTS-HOUSE
Steven approaches the front door which has been left open he
slowly enters and sees Malcolm dead on the floor he then
continues to search the house he pulls his phone out
Steven
I have a detective dead need immediate back up to my location
Steven hangs up the phone
Steven moves around a corner hears a noise looks back and the
killer swings and it cuts to credits
