AND ECONOMIC WELL-BEING AND TO DELIVER EFFECTIVE SOCIAL WORK SERVICES.
Practice Behavior 8.1
Analyze, formulate, and advocate for policies that advance social well-being. For example, when working in a hospital with patients who need certain DME or home health services, there are certain policies and guidelines that have to be followed that determine eligibility. As social work interns and as social workers one day, we will have to both analyze and advocate for policies that help patients such as these and ensure that they receive the services and equipment they need. We can also work with others to formulate policies that will help us to help our clients to the best of our abilities.
Practice Behavior 8.2
Collaborate with colleagues and clients for effective policy action. For example, when completing an assessment for any needs the client may need, such as DME or home health services, we work with both the case managers and the social worker to ensure that the policies and guidelines that are set are working as they should be and that they give our clients the most effective assistance. We must also abide by them in order to help the client.
