CEE 583 Physical Education Facilities and Sports Event Management

After school teachers have the power to make daily physical activity accessible
and engaging for every student and to help them to discover the benefits and joy of
recreation program. Regular physical activity has a positive impact on both academic
and health and when combined with good nutrition, it plays an important role in reducing
the obesity in school students. Overweight students are at greater risk in developing
chronic health problems like type 2 diabetic, heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma
and many more. These students may face serious health consequences as they grow
into adulthood.
As the schools sports coach, I would like to design a program after school period
where it is based on recreational facilities at my school. The 5 days program will be
conducted by our school teachers. All the students from the school are compulsory to
take part.
This program positively impacts multiple areas of development. The benefits
includes improving academic performance; improving brain function especially on
concentrating and stay focus; lower risk of becoming overweight; lower risk in
developing chronic health conditions; reduces stress, depression and anxiety.
The after school program, consist with several types of recreational activities.
These activities are categorized as hard and easy day based on 5 days of
implementations. These activities will be carried out for 2 months so that the evaluation
on usefulness and popularity are precise and accurate.
Since all the activities are based on recreational purpose only, the facilities at my
school is good enough to be carried out. So I dont think in using the creativity or
innovation for my activities.
