Introduction to Chemical Engineering

What is Chemical Engineering?

It is field of applied science that employs physical, chemical, and biological
rate processes for the betterment of humanity.
It enables the graduates to be able to analyze chemical processes and be
able to design effective laboratory experiments which include gathering,
analyzing and testing theories.
What are chemical engineers and what do they do?
Chemical engineers are the universal engineers. They are versatile and
knowledgeable in a lot of subject matters.
Chemical engineers are responsible for the conception and design of
processes for the purpose of production, transformation and transportation of
materials.
The chemical engineer requires a complete and quantitative understanding of
both the engineering and scientific principles underlying these technological
processes.
Other info:
1. After graduating from the 5-year BS Chemical Engineering undergraduate
course, graduates take the National Chemical Engineering Licensure
Examinations to regulate the ChE profession.
2. Chemical Engineering practice is regulated and protected by government
through its laws and implementation. [Republic Act No. 9297 The
Chemical Engineering Law (repealing RA 318)]
