Plot pairs of values, one on the x

axis and one on the y axis
Draw a line of best fit
Describe the type of correlation
the graph shows. If the line of
best fit goes up it is positive, if it
goes down it is negative
Plot at the midpoints of the class
intervals

lines and join top and bottom to

Draw shorter, vertical lines for
the lowest value and the
highest value (the whiskers) and
join these to the box with a
horizontal line

Draw another column on the table

Calculate the cumulative
frequency (running total) in this
column
Plot the cumulative frequency
on the y axis.
Plot from the top of each class
interval on the x axis
Draw a line to join the plotted
points together
Draw two more columns on the
table, one for the class width
and one for frequency density

Find the class widths this is the

distance from the start of one
class to the beginning of the next
class
Divide the frequency by the
class width to calculate the
frequency density
Draw the bars with frequency
density on the y axis
Remember bars can be different
widths and you find the width by
using the data in the first
column. The first bar in this
example would start at 0 and
finish at 10. The next bar would
start at 10 and finish at 15
