Accelerated Motion
Accelerated Motion
(SI unit)
Displacement is the area under a velocity-time graph.
Acceleration is the gradient of a velocity-time graph.
Uniform
accelerated
motion:
In uniform
accelerated
a=g=9.81 ms-2
If the object is moving in the same direction as gravity, then its
acceleration is positive. (+9.81ms-2)
If the object is moving in the opposite direction to gravity, then its
acceleration is negative. (-9.81ms-2)
Components of a vector:
Projectile motion:
1) Projectile thrown on horizontal(initial velocity is zero)
Horizontal component:
Force=0
Acceleration=0
Velocity is constant
As a result, all the horizontal components of the velocities are
the same.
Vertical component: (free fall)
Initial velocity=0
Any of the four equations of motion can be used. (for these
equations, check the physics formulas section)
2) Projectile fired at an angle:
Horizontal component is still the same.
Vertical component:
Vertical displacement is zero, from the starting point to the final
point.
