Seasonal Assistant Groundskeeper

Job Description:
The assistant groundskeeper assists the head groundkeeper in maintaining a
professional baseball field to major league standards. Duties include infield
maintenance, edging, plate repair, batting practice setup/teardown, and pre/post game
maintenance. Also other in-park landscaping as assigned. The assistant
groundskeeper will manage the field for non-Naturals related baseball games and assist
in managing the game day crew.
Requirements:
-Previous sports turf management experience is preferred.
-Must be able to Lift 50 pounds.
-Must be willing and able to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and
holidays.
-Must be highly motivated and able to respond well under pressure.
-Able to maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
Supervisor: Head Groundskeeper
The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are the Double-A Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
They play at Arvest Ballpark, located in Springdale Arkansas. The playing surface is a
sand-based, Patriot Bermuda and over seeded with Champion Ryegrass. Arvest
Ballpark plays host to 70 Naturals games as well as numerous other high school
baseball games.
This is a paid hourly internship. Hours will rotate throughout the season to enhance the
experience but will include nights, weekends and occasional holidays. Assistants will
work 30-40 hours per week on average.
