PFC Meeting Notes

Old Business

A. Past Events/Ongoing Events

1. Scrip Jodi Miller-provided an update as we are up by $700 for the year and 21
submitted orders
2. Box Tops-we received a check for $1,500. Milwaukee Wave has a program for
all Box Top school participates to provide their students with discounted
tickets for a game-details in their newsletter.
3. Pickle Pond-Amy Spielmann updated the group on the conclusion of this
years fall fundraiser-they raised $13,325 (this is the grand total without
expenses). She also discussed her position for next year which she is not
taking on another year. We will need to fulfill this position for next year.
4. Movie Night-next movie night is scheduled for Jan 22 nd
B. Mileage Club-Jodi Miller spoke on behalf of Kim Schingledecker. The Mileage
Club is off to a great start. Volunteers are needed to manage the 2 nd-6th grade
students laps.

New Business

A. Journey in the Arts Jody-did some research through a group of song writers
who would come into each classrooms to write/sing a song. The idea would
be to do the concert at West High School and also incorporate the Art
department for props and background scenes. Cost for this is 4 days of
writing/singing $5,000. Amy Fare will look into her side budget (donated
funds) to possibly offset the cost of this. Another idea would be to look into
corporate sponsorships. Jodi Miller is willing to chair the event.
B. Volunteer Positions
1. Lock In-This years event we need about 4 volunteers for the rooms, they
are trying out a themed event. Kim Shingledecker has volunteer for this
position for next year (2016-2017)
2. High Interest Day-looking for a new committee chair to head up this event
for next year and also need more people for the committee.
3. Journey in the Arts-discussed prior, Jodi Miller would volunteer for this
position
4. Pickle Pond-this has been added for 2016-2017 Committee Chair and
Committee
C. Upcoming Events
1. Panera-November 12th (Thursday 4-8) *Bring Flyer
2. Staff Appreciation-Nov.18th

3. School Play-November 20th

4. School Board Meeting-November 23rd
5. Thankful for Books-November 25th working with St. Judes and bringing
back the book exchange-students can bring 1 book for the exchange.

Treasurer Report-Kimberly Sherwood went over the budget as of
11/10/2015

7:30 pm

Principals Report-This Friday report cards will be available with new

version of grades. In January Mrs. Fare will be teaching a class so she
will not be able to attend upcoming PFC meetings.

7:45 pm

Open Forum-Discussed more in detail the scoring for report cards. The
PFC voted on making a donation to the Vanhimburgens family of $50
