Foundation of

stereotypes
Over view
stereotypes are ideas or images that are oversimplified and fixed of people or things. Many
stereotypes focus on ethnicity, gender, class, and social status. Many of the stereotypes in
America stem come from unusual roots. Additionally, many stereotypes exist because of intricate
events rather than a simple observation made by a group of people.

Police
The police has its roots in a
surprising beginning. Two
hundred years before America became free from
British.It was divided into 13 colonies.These 13
colonies had African slaves to do the dirty work of

white men.White people quickly became abusive towards their slaves. This abusiveness led to
slaves contemplating and attempting escape by running away.

Slavery
The film was about slavery. It was about african
americans wanting to escape because they were
slaves. If they got caught the white men would have
harsh consequences. They would hit them with a
whip. The slaves would mostly go during the night because
they thought they had a better chance on not being caught.
The white men knew about this and they decided to guard
during the night. Slaves work for people particularly white
men of families. To become a slave was by either from being
captured, being purchased, or by birth. I think by the movie it
was mostly by forced labor, because it was forced against his
or her will. Also it was by threat.

Civil War
The civil war was from 1861 to 1865. Seven Southern States declared some area from the United
States. The Confederate States of America formed.

Manifest Destiny
In the 19th Century it was believed that
American settlers were to expand throughout
the continent. Manifest Destiny was a
contested concept. Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses
S. Grant , etc rejected the idea, but democrats
endorsed the idea.
