Work term: 8 week work term Practical experience: 2 technical sessions + one work term Program description: The marine institutes ROV operator program is the only of its kinds in Canada. Preparing students to work with a wide range of vehicles, preform ROV maintenance, understand ROV systems and work safely in unique ocean environments, this program provides a solid foundation in electronics and mechanical technology through classroom, simulated and workplace training. Program location: Marine institute campus, Ridge road (St.Johns) Program structure: for 13 week academic terms over 2 years with 2 technical sessions and 1 eight week work term. Skills and interests: Youre ready to turn your interest in electronics, mechanical technology and machines into a career in underwater vehicles. What youll need: You must meet the marines Institutes application and admission regulations either immediately upon graduation from high school, following a period of employment subsequent to graduation, or by transfer from another postsecondary institution. Applicants are required to provide proof of physical fitness through the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) offshore medical. Future learning opportunities: The marine institute plans to offer graduates of this program the opportunity to continue their studies for a further 2 years to earn a Bachelor of technology degree specializing in underwater vehicle technology. Tuition: Fees are in Canadian dollars for the 2008-2009 academic year 4 terms- 690$ per term 2 technical sessions- 345$ per session Work term 173$ BY: Erica and dustin
