A FORMULA ONE WIN

AND WINNING FORMULAS FOR MOTOR RACING
Engens proud association with motor racing has been sealed with another
victory at the Russian Grand Prix on 11 October with the MERCEDES AMG
PETRONAS Formula One Team winning the 2015 FIA Formula One World
Constructors Championship in Sochi.
Engen, which is 80% owned by Petronas, Malaysias national oil company, enjoys
global support through this association, extending its influence beyond South
Africa, sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean islands.
Petronas is both Title and Technical Partner of the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS
Formula One Team, and has co-engineered customised fuel and lubricants for
the F1 W06 Hybrid cars, raced by Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
The win by Lewis Hamilton at Sochi, follows last years triumphant performance
by the team and its twelfth victory of the season. With the championship secured
and four races of the season still remaining, the dominance of the team shows
the power of collaboration between professional drivers and their partners.
PETRONAS President and Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Wan Zulkiflee Wan
Ariffin says, As Title Partner, and in our role as a Technical Partner for the team,
PETRONAS has continuously been at the forefront of innovation, developing Fluid
Technology Solutions that meet the demands of Lewis and Nico; and
subsequently everyday drivers on the road.
The behind-the-scenes fuel and lubricant innovation for the Mercedes-Benz
F1W06 Hybrid is the by-product of collaboration between a team of experts
working closely with engineers at Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains
in Brixworth and the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team in Brackley
- both in the United Kingdom.
Locally, such technological engineering and collaboration is integral to the
success of Engens dominance in South Africa - as well as its footprint in 20
African countries in sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands - offering
advanced fuels, lubricants and chemicals for the automotive, industrial, aviation,
mining, agricultural, marine, pharmaceutical and coatings industries, in addition
to bitumens and polymers.
