IN TR O D U C TIO N
FADEC stands for full authority digital engine

or electronic control.
It consist of EEC or ECU.
It also consists various sensors.
Used in both piston engine and jet engines.

FU N C TIO N
Full authority digital engine controls have no

form of manual overide.

FADEC and EEC are different.
FADEC improves engine efficiency.
Can be programmed for performing different
operations

Full authority analogue control was used in

the 1960s and introduced as a component of

theRolls-Royce/Snecma Olympus 593engine.
NASAandPratt and Whitneyexperimented
with the first experimental FADEC.
The experiments led toPratt & Whitney
F100andPratt & Whitney PW2000being the
first military and civil engines
