Origin of the word:


PRAY comes from the
Latin word precari,
which simply means
to entreat or ask.

Definition:
Prayer is simply
communicating
with God, listening
and talking to him.

Prayer is one of the


most basic activities of
all Christians, not just
Catholics.
Prayer is
not simply asking God
for something, but
engaging
in
conversation with Him
and with His saints.
Prayer develops our
relationship with God,
therefore it should be
an important part of
our everyday lives.

Example:
The very
fact that we are asking
God for our needs
demonstrates our faith.
To say thanks to God
when
we
receive
blessings in our lives, or
when we ask God for
forgiveness when we
know that we have done
something wrong or
committed
sins,
or
when we praise God or
when we ask God to
help us in our needs or
