Public Relations Plan
The most important aspect of our mission is to target students who are looking to be active on
campus and want to feel like they are involved while at Las Positas regardless of skill level.
In addition we would like to create a relationship with the Las Positas Dance Department and
have a liaison with Performing Arts Club that has been founded on campus.
We will also target students who are concerned about becoming or maintaining a certain level of
physical fitness, as well as those who enjoy dancing or do not know how to.
Our approach to bettering the image of the Ballroom Dance Club is to use the negatives of
community college, the disconnect between students on campus and a lack of activities, and turn
them into positives, giving the people what they want.
Our plans for executing a successful image re-launch include:
Continuing with weekly club meetings and dance lessons in which new members can
join at any time and learn dance at a beginning, intermediate, and advanced level.
Hosting monthly dance socials, with designated themes like Latin Night, which will be
featured on the 3rd Thursday of every month. All students, staff, and community
members welcomenot solely exclusive to the club. $5 Dollar donation requested to
help fund these events, beverages and food will be provided to aid the atmosphere.
In addition, we would host an annual Dance-A-Thon in the spring which would be
open to the public, venue will be at a local center or dance hall, and its funds would go

Print: We will order club shirts to create a stronger sense of community within the club
members. We will solidify a single logo on all of our merchandise with a catchy dance
pun/phrase/logo, continue to post around campus and the local community with posters, and give
flyers to the caf cashiers at the LPC Cafeteria and local coffee shops to give out/have by the
check out. After fundraising we hope to use funds to purchase a large club banner that can be
used at club days and official events.
Audio: Get in contact with the Las Positas radio station as well as the local community station,
KKIQ, to have them promote our meetings and larger eventslike the Dance-a-thon. This can
also attract residents in the Livermore and surrounding areas who are interested.
Film: We will make a YouTube channel with dance tutorials and post videos from our events
filmed in a GoPro style, and featuring choreographed routines as well.
Social Media/Internet: Eventually, as we gain more members, we can spread out positions and
have officers for the club who are social media commissioners they would be in charge of
posting and keeping the pages updated. The club currently has a Facebook, we must revamp our
Twitter page by following more dance pages to get more popular, and we hope to add Vine
great outlet to post short dance videos. We will additionally create an Instagram which will be
updated with our meetings, events, and videos.
