Introduction of Pressure die-cast sump on 1104C


Engines
Perkins Engines Company Limited is pleased to announce the introduction of
a Pressure die-cast sump on 1104C Engine products.
Please be advised that, effective Mid to End August 06 (Final date to be
confirmed), the Pressure die-cast sump will replace the current Gravity die-cast
sump across all 1104C Engine models Except the following ElectropaK models
1104C-44G1, G2, TG1 & TG2.
The table below highlights the models that will have the new Pressure die-cast
sump:

1104C-E44
1104C-E44T
1104C-E44TA

Please Note that this change will also carry over to the 1104D engines
The main points to note are:
1. The position of the filler pipe is 50mm higher at the sump connection (see
diagram below) therefore less susceptible to Leaks
2. The Depth dimension has slightly increased by 3mm (See Drawings below).
3. There is no expected change in noise levels as a result of this introduction.
4. The sump part No. Will change from 3717J321ETC to 3717E301ECT

Account Managers are requested to advise their customers of this change at


their earliest convenience.
A copy of the scheme of sump option differences can be obtained by quoting
reference number 1743SC0810 through the usual application process. GA
Drawings and Technical Data Sheets will be updated accordingly.
