Week of September 7

Today was the first week that I met with my mentor. She gave me a tour of the
facility. We talked about the class for a little bit. I then went to shadow her. She had
patients that needed crowns which she put on. She then used a paint for their teeth
to show where they were biting so she could use the drill and take off the excess.
She also saw other patiennts for other procedures. At the end I was given a tooth
diagram to learn the numbering system of the teeth. I also learned the names of the
faces of the teeth.
Week of September 21
This week I met with my mentor and discussed ideas to begin researching for my
project. I was given a list of new technologies that I could further research. Many of
these I will continue researching during the week. I also did shadowing with my
mentor. I saw her do fittings for night guards. One of the patients broke their night
guard so they ordered another one
Week of September 28
This week I met with my mentor and did shadowing. I watched as she created
crowns for the patients teeth. She drills into their teeth and makes space for the
new crown that will be put on. She was putting a temporary crown. The permanent
must be ordered from a lab that will design the crown using their technology. I saw
her do a few regular checkups too.
Week of October 5

This week I was unable to meet with my mentor due to illness. I worked and finished my
ISM outline. I plan on making up the hours next week.

Week of October 12
This week I met with my mentor and discussed my product. She introduced me to the digital
impression machine and showed me basic features and functions of the machine. She then
created a digital impression of my mouth using the machine software. I now know exactly
how I will create my product and exactly how it will be represented in my final presentation. I
also shadowed her while she treated other patients. She showed me the different things that
she was doing in the patients mouth and gave me step by step explanations of the functions
of everything she was implementing. I also gave her my mentor evaluation form to fill out.
Overall I learned a lot and advanced my project. I now have new imformation to continue to
research my topic.
Week of October 19

This week I was unable to meet with my mentor due to me being sick. I hope to make up the hours this nex
up to date and explain to her why I was unable to attend.

Week of October 26

This week I met with my mentor twice due to me needing to makeup prior hours. On monday I shadowed m

met before. I watched her fill in a crown on apatient as well as do several basic checkups with patients. I al

discussed our interview plans and how it would be coordinated. We discussed that she would teach me ho
that I could create my product.
Week of November 2

This week I was unable to meet with my mentor due to illness. This week I worked on my invitation project

hand them to my evaluators. I also began to work on my interview questions. They will be prepared to inte

will begin to work on my final outline and presentation this upcoming week. I have my imformation and i am
hope to accomplish much this upcoming week.
Week of November 9

This week I was able to conduct interviews with 3 people from the office including my mentor. The intervie
interviewed were done together while the receptionist that I interviewed was done seperately. I also gave

few patients also. They consisted of fixing crowns and general checkups. Overall I accomplished a lot of w
the date of my final presentation with my evaluators.
