The poem discusses the many issues plaguing the world that cause grief, such as orphaned children, homeless teens, hunger, poverty, farmer suicides, inequality between the rich and poor, and corruption in the system. The speaker feels they have "miles to go before I sleep" in working to address these problems and ease the world's suffering. They encourage taking action through unity and believing in change, rather than accepting the status quo, in order to build a brighter world for all.

And miles to go before I sleep. Yet, the world is full of grief, And I need to make it at ease. Miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. Yet, there are children who become orphan, Just because their mothers have sold them for a sum. Yet, there are teens who have lost their way, Just because no one gets them out of the foray. Yet, there are people who weep, Just because they have nothing to eat. Yet, there are people who die, Just because they couldnt buy. Yet, the world is full of grief, And I need to make it at ease. Miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
Miles to go before I sleep By Nibedan Pal B.Sc (First Year) Mathematics Hons. Ramananda College
Yet, there are children who could not study,
Just because their fathers cant afford the money. Yet, there are girls who are confined to home, Just because its the family norm. Yet, there are farmers who commit suicide, Just because the seeds are not subsidized. Yet, the rich are getting richer, Just because they have all the power. Yet, the world is full of grief, And I need to make it at ease. Miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. Yet, the system is all corrupt, What it needs are steps abrupt. So, my friends, its time to act. Make haste, or the system will react. They will give you a non-constitutional tag, Because constitution is nothing but a packet in their bag. Be it anywhere the story is the same. The heads have all the powers vested in them. But it cant stop us from making the world bright. Given that we work, all to our might. If you believe one and one make eleven, Then the lion can be defeated in its own den. So its time to change from somebody to everybody, Because its the only way to victory. So, I plead again Yet the world is full of grief, And we need to make it at ease. Miles to go before we sleep, And miles to go before we sleep
