Product Description
This transmitter/receiver will have the shape of a cylinder with the sensor
placed in the center of the circle and flush against the top of its three
dimensional figure.
Operation
The transmitter will send out a signal to the receiver. After the receiver
has obtained that signal, it then sends another signal back to the
transmitter. A timer will start once the signal is first sent from the
transmitter and will be stopped by the time that it has received its signal.
Since the signal has a set velocity, it will then multiply the time it
calculated by the constant velocity and give the user the distance between
the sensors.
Justification
This device has great asthetics with its curvature and will be used while it
is standing up. Also, this tranmitter/receiver combination will be able to
sit in any corner, but the consumer will have to add the radius of the base
of the circle to the measured distance to obtain the net distance.
